We just have to put the doors on our kitchen cupboards, order the bench-tops and buy our appliances and we're done! I am pretty excited about having a functional kitchen!

Emily is doing great! Sleeping well, still feeding her and she adores the boys!

The Boys

My baby started pre-school yesterday! What a lovely day. He turned it on in the morning and didnt want to go to school.

He wanted to be small again, so he didnt have to go! LOL

We conned him into going and he loved it!!!! YAY for pre-school.

He was absolutely knackered when we got home and took himself to bed... bless.

Lewis and I had a lovely day together. We got the rest of his school gear, had lunch down and did some jobs at home.

Lewis starts today - he is super excited.

February Already?

Where did the last month go? I hope this is no indication as to how fast the year will go!

Riley

Riley starts pre-school tomorrow - I am a little nervous for him, he is such a homebody and a Mumma's boy :) He is very excited about making new friends though.

Lewis

Lewis starts school on Thursday. We decided to switch him from blue school (convent) to green school (public) mainly due to the fact that he barely learnt anything last year, he practically hated going to school and I think the public has better access to technology etc. So we made the decision as a family but EVERYONE HAS A BLOODY OPINION.

We've been made feel like shit because we are changing his school! What the? But as I usually do I just smile and listen to the crap.

A child's school should not be a "status symbol" for the parents it should be about their education and encouraging competition in their lives. There are more kids at green school, so he will make more friends and will compete more both academically and physically. What's the point of having a child that is top of their class when there is only 5 male students the same age as them, compared to 35?

At the end of the day Cobar - all of the kids go to the same high school...

So I will stick to my guns and see how he goes at green school!

To the opinionaters... I dont judge you or your children, so please keep your opinions to yourselves!

House

Our house is getting there slowly but surely. I got a measure up for a new kitchen the other day, just waiting on the quote now! Have been looking at interior doors etc this week but we need to get gyprock, carpet, cornices, skirting boards etc soon.

The pool is looking fabulous. It went a bit green for a while (still getting my head around how to maintain a pool), but have done some reading etc and it is looking beautiful. The kids are getting a lot of use out of it anyway.

Baby Star

Coming up to 27 weeks this week - 13 weeks to go!! That has gone fast. I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday to get the results of my diabetes blood tests - fingers crossed I dont have gestational diabetes again. I feel very energetic and healthy though, so that has to be a good indication of my health! The baby is moving so much and feels like heaven when it kung-fu's iteself around my belly :)

Brock

Brock and Michelle are getting married in 10 weeks time! I am looking forward to a trip to Mildura with the family to celebrate this very anticipated occasion. Now to find something that will fit my "going to be very pregnant belly"?

Best go and start my day.

Love and wedding bells, Jes

Baby's Big Day Out

Happy Mother's Day all you Yummy Mummy's out there!

I nearly had a tragic Mother's day, it was however a very thankful Mother's Day.

Riley slipped out the front door on Saturday afternoon. We only moved into the new place on Friday night! Mum and Nan were visiting and Ben came in and said "where's Riley"? We all started looking for him and we went out the front, looked left and right, then back inside for more searching. Back out the front a couple of times then Ben decided to head down the street for a look. I saw a young girl across the road (out front of hospital) and i saw her pointing. We yelled out to them and asked what she was pointing at and she motioned a little kid. So, i bolted (in the opposite direction to Ben) and got to the corner. I looked back at the girl and threw my hands in the air (like "where now"???) she pointed and i ran. I was running down the road yelling out to Riley and all the while thinking "he wouldnt run off - he is probably at home - holy crap where is he" then in the distance i saw a little boy in a red shirt standing on the corner of Williams street. Note to non-Broken Hill goers, Williams street is the major truck route. So I yelled out again and he heard me and started running back to me. We ran towards each other with arms open. I started crying and carried him back to our corner when a worried Lewis, Ben, Grandmother and Great Grandmother were anxiously waiting.

I was beside myself really. Later that afternoon Ben was visiting a mate and i was drinking a coffee and the boys were playing in the sandpit with the dog. I was sitting down watching them and i couldnt stop crying. I am so thankful that the little girl pointed me in the write direction, i am thankful that Ben asked "where's Riley" and i am just thankful that my little babe is ok.

I dont like to think about "What if's" but sometimes you cant help it. God love me, I am all teary again.

God bless my little boys.

The boys at the park the other day.
Lewis in his school uniform.
Happy 30th Ben for last month! Here is the cake I got him. That plaque was made completely of chocolate (yummy).
Everyone (including his Mum, Dad and family forgot his birthday). He feld sad enough for turning 30, and not a single phone call. Poor thing. Hope the birthday cake made up for it. Me and the kids remembered of course!

Pinch & a Punch

Happy 1st July.
My baby boy is 18 months old now - my, hasnt' time flown.
I just have to put my favourite picture back in here, dedicated to Riley.

So - HAPPY 1.5 TO MY GORGEOUS BABY BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back to business...

Not much going on here at Nifty. Getting a bit cold, but beautiful days in general.
Moving in about 2ish weeks - can't frigging wait.
Lesley, Jayde, Kerry etc - I will come say goodbye before I go... Promise.
We shall prove that there is life 'after Cobar'... LOL.
I can't tell you how excited I am... imagine a kid on christmas eve, then double it and multiply by 8, then add the sqare root of 16 and multiply by the angle of a isosceles triangle and divide by the circumference of a 12cm diameter circle. Did you get the answer? Well, it is pretty goddam excited.

Better go do some work - for all you people lazying around on a Sunday with a hangover... remember me getting out of bed at 4:30am to start a day's work.

Have a good ly in y'all.

Love and lazy Sundays...NOT
Jes
