My New Business

I am so excited - my new business has really kicked off since we launched at the start of February.

What we do, is simply audit websites to make sure that they are owned and operated within Australia by Australian's. Our website will eventually be filled with hundreds of Australian websites, so if you want to be patriotic, you can!

Here are all my details;

Website:
Blog:
Facebook Fan Page:
Twitter:
LinkedIn:
MySpace:

As at today (23/03/2010) we have certified 60 websites. They all offer fantastic products and services ranging from clothing, accessories, recruitment, real estate, dog collars and heaps more.

We start our advertising campaign this weekend and I am super excited - I hope we get a good response!

Thank you to everyone who has supported my new business.... I love you from the bottom of my heart.

If your happy and you know it, clap your hands

Clap Clap

Yeah, yeah!! thanks for your comments by the way - glad to know you drop in every now and again.

I have some great news.... I got the job i wanted in Broken Hill. I dont know if i am happier about the job, going to broken hill or just getting out of this shit hole. LOL doesnt really matter now does it?

So, the job you were asking...

My title will be Training & Development Advisor with Bemax (mineral sands resources) based in Broken Hill. There is a mine site (Ginko) about 2 hrs away (Pooncarie) but i will only have to visit the mine 1 or 2 times a week (day trip).

Bemax have apparently won tonnes of awards for their training departement - but i think i can work to their expectations (hope so anyhow).

The work is still in the mining industry, not hardrock / underground (which is what i am used to) but mineral sands like titanim and other minerals that are brought back to broken hill mineral seperation plant to be treated. I am sure i will be an expert before you know it.

Mum has been busily looking for houses for me - Bemax will put me up in a house for up to 14 weeks, so that should be plenty of time for me to find a house to buy, sell my house and settlements etc. Ben is almost finished our house and i promise to look for some before photos and post a heap of comparative pictures - we have done so much to the house, you would barely recognise it.

I have been having a lot of dreams lately and all of them, very subtly are telling me things that i really need to be aware of. Leaving cobar, moving, friends, family and other matters that fill my head with worry.

So i feel very clear that this is where i am supposed to go - even the date that i am supposed to start (14th April) have very strange, yet amazing significance for me.

Ben is staying in Cobar - hopefully getting his job at the CSA.

So Lewis, Riley, Puppy and i will move house next week (most probably Thurs / Fri) and i will start work the following monday.

I feel like a bitch, because all i want to do is tell everyone that i know to get F&%ked and start all over - ha ha ha. I have felt (particularly with in-laws) that i have only ever been spoken to when they want help with something - noone drops in for a cuppa or rings me for a chat.

Nearly 30 years old and i have not a friend to speak of - but, i have 2 beautiful sons, a wonderful mother and an amazing twin - what more do i need :)

None of the in-laws know that i am moving yet, i will tell them soon.

I Love When Things Go Right

I just had my break and took some pictures of the kids.

Ben and I took the kids to "Fun Station" on Saturday. It ROCKS. Ben and I played on all the things with the kids. Ben got plastic burn to the hands (from the fast purple slide) need I say more. We had a ball.

Here is Lewis in the ball pit.

Riley in the Ball pit. I had to jump in and save him at one stage. He was completely submerged by balls and i couldnt see him. He loved it.

Here are the boys in a tunnel thingy. Lewis took Riley up there by himself. Note: Ben's mobile camera was zoomed as far as it could go - LOL they were so high up.

That is all the pictures I got unfortunately. Note to Self - take camera EVERYWHERE I go.

My break was lovely. Ben went out just about every night (to Poker) and I stayed home with the kids. During the days we hung out and didnt do much at all. I got my hair done and did a bit of shopping.

Father's Day (yesterday) was nice. We had a bit of a sleep in and Ben got some presents from the kids. Ben asked me if I was going to make him breakfast - then started sulking when I didnt. My reply was simply "you wont make me feel guilty, I have never got anything for Mother's Day, birthday's, christmas's etc". LOL.

Back @ Work

Hiya,
I am back at work. I had to go home last week as Riley was sick (damn day care) and he needed his mummy (as you do). I need my mummy sometimes too * hint hint mumma :)

Anyhow, Riley is all better and now i am back at work, only for a few days. I head back on Tuesday.

I am putting Ben on the plane Tuesday night so he can head home to Cobar and bring the car over. He is driving across the nullabor - good on him eh... glad i dont have to do it.

So the kids and i will be alone *mu ha ha ha... should be fun, fun, fun at camp Urquhart!

No doubt Ben will get roped into doing some work while he is home - i told him to hide... ha ha ha "have faith Jes".

Mary rang the other day and we had a nice chat. Her kids have been a bit sick too - must be the winter thing. I cant wait until they come for a visit (January) YAY. I am hoping Craig brings his resume with him.

Mum and Dad have booked their flights to come spend new years with us - YAY very excited about that too. Ben and I may ditch Mum, Dad and the kids on New Years Eve to finally have a annaversary, after Riley's birthday that is. Will have to check with Mumma bear though.

Ok, better do some work - I am starting a new job on the 15th - more details soon - and definately some action photos!

Love & 'a little something, something"

Long Time No See

Hi there,
Sorry for the lack of posting of late - I will have to set aside a particular time of the day to update my blog.
I have been busier than a dog with 2 *&%$ LOL.
Weather is beautiful and hot here - nearly time to rip out the bikini...NOT!
Havent been doing much except for working. Havent been socialising with anyone this swing either, pretty much just keeping to myself.
How is everyone???
I am fine. Ben is bored. Lewis is excited about living in WA and is loving school. Riley is great - he starts at ABC tomorrow and i think he will really enjoy it. Riley has such a little vocabulary at the moment. Things he can say now;

  • Poo Poo
  • Thankyou
  • Please
  • Get down
  • Get up

Cant really remember, now that i think about it. I will have to write them down when i get home. He is a polite little monster anyhow.

I fly out (back to perth) on Friday 3rd August. Fly back to work Monday 6th August, then home again on 14th August. So now you'll know where i will be.

Happy travels,

Jes

I just have to put my favourite picture back in here, dedicated to Riley.

So - HAPPY 1.5 TO MY GORGEOUS BABY BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back to business...

Not much going on here at Nifty. Getting a bit cold, but beautiful days in general.
Moving in about 2ish weeks - can't frigging wait.
Lesley, Jayde, Kerry etc - I will come say goodbye before I go... Promise.
We shall prove that there is life 'after Cobar'... LOL.
I can't tell you how excited I am... imagine a kid on christmas eve, then double it and multiply by 8, then add the sqare root of 16 and multiply by the angle of a isosceles triangle and divide by the circumference of a 12cm diameter circle. Did you get the answer? Well, it is pretty goddam excited.

Better go do some work - for all you people lazying around on a Sunday with a hangover... remember me getting out of bed at 4:30am to start a day's work.

Have a good ly in y'all.

Love and lazy Sundays...NOT

Hi There

Hey ho,
Not much going on here at Nifty. We had a comedian show last night. 4 comedians tour around going to mine sites etc. They were so funny. I had a few drinks and was home in bed by around 10pm. Tired today. Today ABC are coming out to the mine to film a documentary. I think it is about people working on mine sites - not sure, will find out soon.
Thats it.
Love and funnies,

Fly Out Day Today

Yahoo... leaving work this afternoon and heading home! Well, not straight away. I have my hairdresser appointment in Perth tomorrow and leaving on the red eye tomorrow night. I am looking forward to spending some quality time with the kids and hopefully flying up to see Jen and the kids and Roz and Brianna. Ben wants to do a few things to the house and i thought i would take the boys away for a special week with their Mum. They have never been on a plane before, so i think they will really enjoy themselves.

I will get the hair dresser to take a picture of my hair tomorrow and i will put it on the blog - if i can, it might have to wait until i get home.

I have had a mixed-up kind of swing this fortnight. Started bawling to a workmate the other day because i wanted to snatch it and go home, but after a day that feeling left me and i was back to my usual self. I was due to get my period that day, so bawling was more hormonal than emotional. I feel good now, but still looking forward to my break.

Better get into it and make a dent in my workload before i fly out. I really dont want to, but - cant let the team down. LOL.

I am going to leave you with some inspirational quotes that i found yesterday. I hope they inspire you to keep fighting the great fight!

"Learn from the mistakes of others--you can never live long enough to make them all yourself." (John Luther)

"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It goes on." (Robert Frost)

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." (Eleanor Roosevelt)

"When all is said and done, a lot more is said than done." (unknown)

"Treat a man as he is, and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he could be, and he will become what he should be." (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

"To be nobody but yourself in a world that's doing its best to make you somebody else, is to fight the hardest battle you are ever going to fight. Never stop fighting." (E. E. Cummings)

"The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits." (Albert Eistein)

"Success is the sum of small efforts--repeated day in and day out." (Robert Collier)

"Excellence is in the details. Give attention to the details and excellence will come." (Perry Paxton)

"An excuse is worse and more terrible than a lie, for an excuse is a lie guarded." (Pope John Paul II)

1 More Sleep

This is what the sky looks like this morning - BEAUTIFUL! I woke up this morning and thought it was raining and could have cried. But, must have been my imagination because the weather is just fine. So I should be out of here on the PM flight tomorrow (arriving in Perth 7:30pm). I am not going to do anything in Perth as I really couldnt be bothered. So, if you are in Perth - come to the airport tomorrow night for a drink, because that is where i will be :)

I have a busy-ish day today. I have to tidy everything up and make sure everything is hunky-dory before I go.

How cute is this picture - I found it the other day.

Lena mms'd this picture to me the other day - I love it.

3 Sleeps :)

Woo Hoo

3 sleeps until I finish work and 4 sleeps until I see my boys! I am soooo homesick and sooo looking forward to finishing this extra long swing! I have worked 17 days straight now... it has gone quickly... can't complain about that, but I am so buggered. I was going to have a flexi today, but didnt happen and I was going to have one tomorrow, but I am doing the inductin tomorrow. That should finish pretty early, so I might have an early mark.

I fly out on on Monday afternoon (after a 4:30am start) and wait around Perth until midnight. Arrive in Sydney at 6am and arrive in Dubbo at 9:30am. Ben and the boys will have the car packed up, ready for the long drive to the gold coast. Yes, I am finally getting a holiday!!!!!! We have never had a holiday, and Ben says that Lewis is Super Excited. We will arrive at the coast late on Tuesday and no doubt have a big sleep-in on Wednesday. We want to take the kids to Movie world, Sea world and maybe Dream world (depending on how motivated we are). We will head home on Saturday morning, have Easter Sunday at home (in my own bed...heaven) then I am off to Dubbo again Monday night to fly out to Perth on Tuesday morning. I will arrive back at work on Tuesday PM.

That is..... if I dont get rained in this weekend............please keep your fingers and toes crossed for me.

So, a busy week ahead, but I will be with my boys and on the Gold Coast.... so can't really complain. I will be stuffed by the time I get back to work, no doubt!

WELCOME TO MY LIFE.

But, you know what? I LOVE IT :)

I am so excited to see the renovations that have 'apparently' happened since I have been gone. I will be very impressed I think. I will take some photos for you. And if you know me and my house you will understand my elation at getting jobs done!

What else?

Oh, I am swapping rooms with one of the Underground Shift Bosses. He has a 'gym-side' room and I have a 'pool-side' room - so we are swapping this weekend. Look out! I will be at the gym every morning, before work I reckon. It is so hard to motivate yourself to go to the gym after a 12-14 hour day.

I am such a whinger :) Nah, I go alright.

I brought a TV off my boss yesterday, so i've got me a flat screen tele and dvd player in my room now. I honestly haven't watched a full episode of home and away for 4-5 weeks! My boss announced last week that he has resigned. He does his last swing after Easter. I will still stay, as well as 2 trainers and guess who got the 3rd training job? Sally Jupp - I kid you not! She arrives on site the day after I do (11th April).

Gotta go, I think I have a lift back to the village (going to have an early mark after all).

Love and sleepy eyes,
Jes

Good Evening

Big day today. I spent the whole day on the computer working, working, working. The office was empty so I had my tunes on and got into the groove. It pissed down rain today, but the planes managed to land and Darryl arrived. I was getting a bit worried that I would be left on my own this weekend, as the other guys flew out yesterday. We didn't leave work until 7pm tonight and it was still raining. I went straight to my room when we got back, drenched. I put away my washing which I did at work this morning and got changed, went and had dinner and came straight back to my room to ring Ben. We haven't had a good long conversation this week, so I was looking forward to having a chat. Everything is against us, swear to god… the home phone is u/s again. Arghhhh TELSTRA. Then the mobile kept dropping out and we couldn't talk. So I turned my computer on so I could snuggle in bed and watch a movie. I thought I would try my nextG wireless broadband and WTF it worked.

Ben finally called me back and we got to have a conversation. Now I am sitting in the dark writing, listening to the song that I just added. I hate what music does to me. You know when you have an event in your life, or friends or anything really that you relate to as soon as you hear a song. Like 1991 songs remind me of living on the Sunshine Coast, Um Bop reminds me of Em and this song (Colorblind) just makes me sad. Not crying sad, but thoughtful sad. This was the song I was listening to at the Perth airport the other night when there was a coffin being unloaded from the plane. I haven't really even listened to the words, so don't know if it is even relevant.

My favorite song at the moment is Stacie Orrico - I'm not missing you. I just found this song the other day when I was surfing www.pcplanets.com and I had never heard it before. Also, Nelly Furtardo - Say it Right.

I could just imagine the guys at work saying;

Cause I am just talking crap now… I am so tired. I have been waking up at 3am. So, 9pm now and better get to sleep before I wake myself up any more.

Love & sleeping pills,

Jes

Finally at Work

I made it... long story. Oh, you have time. Ok then.

Firstly, where did i leave you last instalment? Oh, a hotel in Perth. Well, I got a phone call on Tuesday night saying that i was on the 6am flight on Wednesday morning to Nifty. So, I packed my shit up and got very little sleep.

I woke up at 4am, had a shower, checked out of the hotel, caught a taxi to the airport and waited for my flight. There were planes & people everywhere. All the mines up here must have had the same problems. Our plane left on time and one left about half an hour before us. Just as we were taxiing up the tarmac the flight attendent said "Welcome aboard your flight to Newman". What the???? We were all confused. Anyway 2 and a half hours past and we landed in Newman at 8:30am.

There is a map for you. I dont know where Nifty is in relation to Newman, but a bit out of the road. The plane that left before us was there waiting as well as 5 or 6 other flights to other mines. So there was people everywhere. We were told that we would wait about half an hour to see if the Nifty airstrip was dry enough to land. I don't know why this was not confirmed before we left Perth.
So, 4 hours later..... still at Newman, waiting, waiting, waiting. We were listening to the goss and apparently someone was saying to leave the people behind and get the freight to Perth. One of the planes (the one I was on) had a fuel leak and was parked up. So they had to get 2 plane loads of people and 2 plane loads of freight up to Nifty???? So then there was a decision that had to be made. Only 10 people were allowed to go to Nifty (on a charter from Port Headland) and everyone else had to get the good plane back to Perth. I dont know what happened to the freight??? I know that they left 26 dozen cartons of eggs at Newman LOL.
I made the short list of 10! YAY.
Then they decided to get the charter to drop 10 people off at Nifty, then go back for another 10. So 20 people came to work and the rest went back to Perth.
You still with me?
While we were waiting for the charter, we ate the plane food from the sick plane for lunch. Noice soggy sangas, a tim-tam and some cheese and bickies. Hit the spot, cause I didnt have any breakfast.
I had a splitting headache sitting at Newman and when we finally got our bags of the plane, I retreived my panadol and all was sweet.
Ok, so the charter arrived at about 1:00pm. And my first reaction was "Oh My God - it is tiny". The thunder was rolling in and we had to get on a 10 seater plane? I am feeling lucky... on account of the really good luck I have had lately :) so I got on the first one.
While flying I was just dozing when i heard a big BANG and i shit myself. Turns out we hit a bird and it dinged up the wing. Nice. We arrived at Nifty at about 2:15pm. The landing was surprisingly smooth and we were all safe and sound.
No one was there to pick me up, then Mel turned up and took me straight to work.
Didn't do much last night and have to change my room again today because they hadn't organised a room for me (Arghhh) so we'll see how we go this arvo. I will wait til later because apparently 200 people are being flown in and 200 being flown out today, so everyone is a bit stressed out right now.
Love and airports

Working @ Home

Hiya,
Well I am working, but doing it from home for the next 2 weeks. I tell ya, this is the life! It is easy to get tied up with the kids and the house, so I have been getting up every morning and going to work with Ben and doing my work from his office at the tyre shed and finishing about 4:30ish. It is definately not 12 hours, but still getting a bit done.
Lewis is really enjoying school. I have tried to get both into bed by about 7:30pm each night (I can just imagine Jen's evil laugh - "I told you so". No Jen, it is great having the night to ourselves and knowing the kids are asleep!
Happy Valentines Day!
Better get back to it then...

Fly Out Day :)

I came to work this morning. I was going to have a sleep-in and catch the bus to the airport at 8:30am, but I had to put all my gear in a friends room, so we moved everything at about half past 4 this morning. I also have to burn some stuff to disk so i can take it and do some work at home - problem with that is I cant find the burning software on the computer. So I am on a mission this morning to find the biggest computer geek on site - shouldnt be too hard, I hope.

I cant wait to cuddle with my boys.
I cant wait to sleep in my own bed.
I cant wait to eat real food.
I cant wait to watch home and away.
I cant wait to have a cold shower.
I cant wait to eat Maccas.
I cant wait to sleep in past 4:30am.
I cant wait to not have gazzo every day.
I cant wait to sit out the back drinking coffee, smoking and catching up with Ben.
I cant wait to jump on Ben :)
I cant wait to walk around the house in my bra (if I want to)!
I cant wait to talk to Jen on the phone for longer than 5 minutes.
I cant wait to go home.

But, I will have to wait - another 24 hours I'm afraid! Did I tell you about the cold showers here? Well, picture this;
You've had a hard day, temperature has been over 40 most days and pretty humid. You are wearing jeans and on most days a work shirt. Wearing boots and thick socks everyday and being a smoker - you are out in the heat more than others. So, it is around 30 degrees at 5am in the morning - so no cool weather, even at night. So, what do you want to do after you have worked all day then gone to the gym for an hour - yes...you guessed it - have a cold shower! The only problem with that is there is no cold water. You shower only ever with the cold tap and the water is probably 45 degrees. I cant remember the last time i actually put the hot tap on. So my shower is get in - get out then stand naked in front of the air conditioner to cool off. LOL thats probably not a pretty site. So cold shower definately on my to-do list.

Ok, better go find a geek, get this stuff burnt to disk, eat my breakfast (container of scrammy eggs), tidy everything up then get a lift back to the village where i have to surrender my room key (arghhh). Hopefully when i return they will issue me a room closer to the gym. I will have to make friends with the ESS staff, as they organise all that :)

So...I am still here then.... LOLOLOLOLOL

Happy Saturday!

2 sleeps until I leave the mine site - 3 sleeps til I am home to my boys.

I took some photos just now... tried to get the sunrise thang, but had a shocker.

I tried, but couldn't upload the stinking pictures. Grrr.

I finished work at 4pm yesterday and rang Ben as soon as I got back to the villiage. Our conversation;

"Hi babe, I am back in my room. Finished work early - might have a sleep".
"Why"?
"Cause I am tired"
"But you dont get paid when you dont work"
"It is only 2 hours - I have already worked 11 hours today!"
"Why would you be buggered, you dont do physical labour"

He he he you have a lot to learn grasshopper! Sitting in front of a computer for 13 hours a day is as tiring as physical labour! Mentally...you know?

So, I went to sleep at 4 and Sheraine (girl at work) rang me at 6pm to wake me up for dinner. I went down for tea and went back to my room. I spoke to Jen on the phone for a while then went back to sleep. Ben rang and woke me up and I talked to him for an hour, then was back asleep by 9pm.

I was a little tired this morning though. But came good after 3 smokes and 2 coffees - LOL am I one of the girls from AB FAB? Sweety, Sweety, Sweety?

So, on the home stretch...wooo hooo. I am flying into Perth on Monday - will get there about 12pm and I dont fly to Sydney until midnight. So 12 hours in Perth. Will probably catch up with Janaya and maybe go out for t with Mel (another girl from here). We will see. More than likely I will cruise around by myself, do some shopping and wind down.

I had a funny experience last time I flew out of Sydney... I might save that one for another day! LOL.

Will try these pictures again;

He he he, I was smoking when I took this! LOL

This is the mill - I love coming to work in the dark and seeing everything lit up!

This is a bit of a sunrise shot - this was taken right outside my office.

This photo is the moon LOL.
Have a good Saturday y'all.
